The wind yesterday was tremendous and the storm it blew in was incredible. Around 8pm last night the power went out for a couple of hours. The nice thing is we did have a little warning and I was able to gather some candles together and a couple of flashlights. (I decided it was a good time to have a nap, after I read for a bit by flash light)
We woke up to a blanket of snow/ice bumps all over the ground. It was interesting to walk on, especially at the office. It is still windy today but the sun is shining which is always good. So far there hasn't been any claims called into our office.....knocking on wood.
Tomorrow I am off to the Hat for a Staff Appreciation day. It's going to be a long day but we do get lunch and supper out of it.... maybe some prizes too. Unfortuanately it is Darren's first weekend off without the phone, oh well. I told him to think about what he would like to do with his weekend and if he want to come up on Saturday night and spend the night, then we could make a well needed trip to Costco and look for blinds for the spare room. Otherwise he could stay home and do some well needed chores too.....
We are finally having chili tonight. It took him a couple of days to get around to preparing it but it's in teh crockpot cooking up a storm. I'm going to double check it at lunch and make sure there is enough chili powder.
